Lilliput is a hybrid of an early ripening cucumber, obtained in 2007 by breeders of the Gavrish agricultural firm. In 2008, the variety was entered into the state register of plants in Russia. Designed for indoor cultivation (film and glazed greenhouses) in private garden plots. Regions of admission: Middle Volga, North Caucasian, Central black earth, Volgo-Vyatka, Central, North and North-West. The authorship is assigned to V.N. Shevkunov, A.V. Shamshina, A.E. Portyankin and S.F. Gavrish.
The variety is parthenocarpic (pollination is not required), with a bundle of ovaries. Recommended for picking pickles and gherkins. The period from full germination to fruiting is 38 - 42 days.
Plants are medium-branched, with exclusively female flowers at the nodes. In one leaf sinus, from 3 to 10 ovaries are formed. Leaves are green to dark green in color, medium in size.
Zelentsi are cylindrical or in the form of a truncated cone, with medium-sized tubercles, short (7 - 9 cm), weighing 80 - 90 grams. The skin color varies from dark green to green in a gradient from the base to the top. The surface of the fruit is decorated with short white stripes, the top is white. The pubescence is dense. The thorns are white. Pulp with excellent taste. Productivity of marketable fruits - 10 - 11 kg / sq.m.
Thanks to its small, beautiful fruits, this variety is a godsend for those who love pickled and pickled gherkins. Collect gherkins every other day, pickles - every day. With irregular harvests, the fruits become thicker, but they do not outgrow, do not barrel and do not turn yellow - in this regard, the Lilliputian is suitable for gardeners who do not have the opportunity to constantly monitor the plantings and those who visit the country only occasionally.
This hybrid is resistant to common cucumber diseases - olive spot, powdery mildew, root rot; tolerant to peronosporosis. Prone to the formation of determinant lateral shoots.
