Cucumber variety Muromsky 36
Muromsky 36 is an old variety of cucumber with an ultra-early ripening period. Originator - All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Vegetable Breeding and Seed Production. Added to the state register of the Russian Federation in 1943. Approved for use in eight regions of Russia: North, North-West, Central, Volgo-Vyatka, Ural, East Siberian, West Siberian and Far East.
The variety is bee-pollinated. Designed for growing in open ground and under temporary film shelters. Suitable for commercial production. The period from the emergence of mass shoots to fruiting is 32 - 42 days.
The length of the central whip is 100 - 160 cm. Plants are well leafy. The leaves are large, green in color.
Fruits are oval-elongated or ovoid, almost round in cross section, with very small, sparsely located tubercles, 6 - 8 cm long, weighing 50 - 70 grams. The skin is light green with distinct longitudinal white stripes. The pubescence is mixed. The thorns are black. The yield is small - 2 - 3 kg / square meter.
This cucumber is characterized by resistance to cold snaps, as well as to powdery mildew and bacteriosis. It yields well until mid-August, after which it is strongly affected by fungal diseases. If not harvested on time, the fruits turn yellow quickly. On depleted soils and during drought, many small and hooked fruits grow.
Pickling variety. The palatability of fresh and canned fruits is good and excellent.
The main trump card of the Muromsky 36 cucumber is early ripening.
Many years ago I planted "Murom", in our region it was quite common, and now I don't even see seeds on sale. In those days, I did not yet have a greenhouse, and I sowed in open ground in late May or early June, and with dry seeds (and if the weather was cool, I simply covered the garden with a film). What did I like about this variety? The fact that he had time to give a crop in our short summer. June in the Ivanovo region is not summer yet, and August is not summer anymore. In August, cold dew begins, and the leaves of the cucumbers turn yellow and dry. So "Murom" managed to grow in an open garden and give a crop. Used both in salads and for pickling. And one more thing, but this is already my personal memorable observation (it is, rather, medical): it drives salts out of the body well, in my opinion hybrids do not work that way.
Sorry, you didn’t find Muromsky seeds? So I want to give up these F1s.
The most delicious cucumber I've ever tasted.
On my site, along with hybrid varieties, I always plant at least a few bushes of bee-pollinated cucumbers. This advice was given to me by one friend when I complained that I get small harvests. I take the Muromsky variety more out of habit than because of its qualities. I plant in open ground with germinated seeds at the end of May and cover with a film until germination appears, in order to reduce the amount of watering. We eat the first cucumbers in early July. In the 20th of July there is always a heat and at this time the plants suffer greatly, the yield drops, the cucumbers become bitter and ugly in shape. The care may not be very thorough, but I cannot devote much time to them.We use cucumbers only fresh: for salads and so crunch. Taste: cucumbers, like cucumbers, nothing special. In August, with the onset of cold nights, the leaves turn yellow, so I'm already pulling them out.
