Cucumber variety Othello (F1)

Othello is a bee-pollinated early maturing cucumber hybrid bred by the Czech seed company Moravoseed. The period from germination to fruiting is 41 - 45 days. Suitable for growing in open and protected ground. But since pollination by bees is required, it is preferable to plant it in open ground. The variety was added to the state register in 1996 under the name "Otelo". Approved for use in the Central Black Earth Region (Tambov, Oryol, Lipetsk, Kursk, Voronezh, Belgorod regions).

Plants are medium-growing (the length of the main stem is 2 meters), strongly branching, mainly of the female type of flowering. In one leaf sinus, from 3 to 6 ovaries are formed.

Zelentsy are cylindrical, small tuberous, without a neck, 8 - 12 cm long, weighing 70 - 80 grams; the ratio of length to thickness is 3.1: 1. The skin is deep green, with white blurred stripes reaching the middle of the fruit. Frequent pubescence. The thorns are white. The pulp is crispy, sweetish, without bitterness and voids. The yield is high - more than 10 kg / square meter. The output of marketable products is 96%. Potential yield - 100 - 120 t / ha.

This hybrid, due to the size and good taste of the fruit, is perfect for canning.

The variety is resistant to adverse weather conditions. Has complex resistance to common diseases of cucumber (olive spot, powdery mildew, cucumber mosaic virus). Fruits, if not picked in time, do not outgrow.

On sale you can find seeds of this hybrid from different manufacturers (Moravoseed, Aelita, Poisk, Gavrish, Semko, etc.) and under different names (Otelo, Othello), therefore, the characteristics of the resulting plants may be different.
