Cucumber variety Cellar (F1)
Productivity is perhaps the main requirement for cucumber varieties. Therefore, the Cellar is so popular with gardeners, but it is famous not only for this quality. The variety was bred relatively recently - in the 2005th year. The applicants are two organizations - LLC Scientific Research Institute of Vegetable Growing in Protected Ground and LLC Agrofirma Gavrish. They are also the originators. The cucumber was included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of the Russian Federation in 2006, with admission in many regions: Central, North, Northwestern, North Caucasian, Volgo-Vyatka, Middle Volga and Central Chernozem. Recommended for growing under film shelters in personal subsidiary plots. It is a first generation hybrid.
Description
The cellar belongs to the indeterminate, which means that when growing it will have to be tied up, since the height of the plant will be from 1.5 meters and above. The plant is medium-branchy, it will not grow much in width. The length of the lashes is 0.6 - 0.7 meters. The leaves are small, heart-shaped, green. The surface is slightly pubescent, with pronounced venation. Up to 3 ovaries are formed in each node. The type of flowering of cucumber is mixed, but female flowers predominate, especially on the lateral lashes. The fruit is cylindrical in shape, slightly narrowed towards the base. The skin is green, with short blurred stripes. The surface is lumpy, with brown spines. Zelenets small - 10 - 12 cm, in cross section - 3.5 - 4 cm. Weight - 100 - 120 g. The pulp is juicy, dense, crispy. The taste of the variety is excellent, there is no bitterness.
Characteristics
- The hybrid is early maturing. At the time of fruiting comes in 40 - 45 days after the emergence of full shoots;
- marketable yield is excellent - 10.2 - 11 kg of cucumbers are obtained from one square meter;
- one of the main advantages is high resistance to diseases (cladosporiosis, powdery mildew), tolerant to downy mildew;
- high resistance to irregular watering;
- fruiting of the variety continues until the onset of frost;
- The cellar has unique taste and salting qualities, suitable for fresh consumption and canning;
- the plant belongs to bee-pollinated, this must be taken into account during cultivation in closed ground.
Agrotechnics
Taking into account the regions of cultivation, it is preferable to plant cucumbers in a seedling way. Sowing is carried out in early May, and in early June, the seedlings can already be planted in a permanent place. In the seedless method, seeds are sown in soil warmed up to 15 ° C. Before sowing, rotted manure or complex fertilizers are introduced into the holes. Seeds are buried in the ground to a depth of no more than 3 cm.The planting pattern is 30 cm between plants in a row (in a greenhouse, 50 cm is possible), row spacing is at least 50 cm.
Leaving does not differ in any nuances. Watering is carried out with warm water, top dressing is applied every 10 - 11 days, preferably in sunny weather, combined with watering. Loosening of row spacings is mandatory.
The cellar is an excellent choice both for those who grow cucumbers for themselves and for those who do business. The main advantages of the variety are high yield, resistance to diseases and unfavorable conditions, excellent taste characteristics.
Of the shortcomings, it can be noted only the need to use the trellis during growth, the presence of pollinating insects, as well as the annual purchase of seeds.
