Cucumber variety Shchedryk (F1)
Shchedrik is a hybrid of an early ripening cucumber, bred by breeders of the Russian agricultural firm Gavrish. Designed for growing in film greenhouses, but also suitable for open ground. The period from full germination to fruiting is 42 - 45 days. In 2005, the variety was included in the state register of the Russian Federation. Approved for use in the North, North-West, Volgo-Vyatka, Central, Middle Volga, North Caucasian and Central Black Earth regions. Recommended for cultivation on personal plots and in small farms.
Plants with unlimited growth (indeterminate), medium-growing, abundantly leafy, female flowering type. Three or more ovaries are formed in the node. The maximum number of ovaries on the main stem is 12, on the lateral shoots - 15. Leaves are green, medium-sized. The root system is well developed.
Fruits of the Shchedrik variety are cylindrical, lumpy, weighing 90-100 grams, 10-12 cm long, 3.5-4 cm in diameter. Hillocks are medium-sized, frequent. The skin is dark green with short white stripes. The thorns are light cream. The pulp is firm, with few seeds, without bitterness (genetically). The seeds are small. One plant produces 5.5 - 7 kg of cucumbers. The marketable yield is 12.8 kg / m2.
Fruits for universal use, withstand storage and transportation well. The taste qualities of fresh and canned products are very high.
The cultivar is resistant to powdery mildew, root rot, olive spot and bad weather conditions, tolerant to downy mildew.
Advantages of the Shchedryk cucumber: early maturity, bunched ovaries, long-term fruiting (before cold weather).
