I have respect for long cucumbers, so that you can eat your fill of one. Or peel one and a large bowl of lettuce in a couple of minutes. I tried many varieties, among them is the Real Man. She ripped open the package and was amazed. The seeds look cucumber, but they themselves are much smaller! But I realized how much this is a plus. Even overgrown seeds are not annoying, you just don't notice them. But the first summer I just flew with this variety. She planted, like all cucumbers, in the sun. In our heat, he clearly felt bad. By noon, the leaves were curled up in tubes and hung with rags during all watering. The cucumber showed no yield. The fruits came out with white stripes along the ribs. And the shape was aimed at a dumbbell, showing two thickenings at the ends and tapering towards the middle. But the taste and lack of bitterness in the tails of the Real man pleased. The next year she gave him a second chance, settling him in partial shade. And we ate too much fresh cucumbers!
Last year, my friend and I bought one packet of seeds for two. I planted three cucumbers of this variety in a greenhouse next to the peppers. These three cucumbers just overwhelmed me with their harvest. Already at the end of June I collected the first couple of pieces, and then we simply did not have time to collect and eat them. Long, thin, with small seeds, not bitter. They grew in my greenhouse corners, tied them up with twine. I would say that it was a little cramped for them there, but they made them happy almost until late autumn. And my friend works in a rural store, and when the check went, she laid out her cucumbers for a larger assortment, so the inspectors did not believe that such cucumbers grow among the local population.
By the fall, the yield decreased, and the fruits began to grow in an irregular shape, but I think that this is from the cold, and by the end of the season there is a lack of nutrition.
This year I planted three seedlings again, yesterday I harvested the first crop - a cucumber about 40 cm, two more are waiting for their turn, they will be about 15 cm.
