Rose Luxor

A unique garden design is easy to create by placing bred flowers on your backyard. And the first thing that comes to mind for the decoration of the landscape around us is the beauties of the rose. Meet one of the valuable hybrids in this category - the Luxor variety.

History of origin

This variety has been known since 2006. In the catalogs, you can also find its other name: Ruiy5991. Luxor was developed by the Dutch specialist Henk C.A., the official distributor and patent holder is De Ruiter Innovations BV. The plant is a representative of a large group of tea hybrids.

Description

Luxor conquers with its luxurious appearance both experienced florists and inexperienced beginners and simply lovers of exquisite flowering perennials. Of course, first of all, attention is drawn to the flowers of the Dutch rose, which have the shape of a wide bowl, painted in juicy cherry-red tones. In general, velvety flowers are characterized by a two-tone color, since their outer surface has a different shade: white or light beige. The terry petals framing the center fall beautifully in soft waves. The buds of the plant are large, goblet, their size varies from 6 to 10 cm in diameter and from 5 to 7 cm in height. The flowers of the noble beauty unfold gradually, providing observers with the opportunity to enjoy this magnificent spectacle and an unusual combination of two shades, which perfectly reflects the phrase "blood and milk". Luxor buds exude a pleasant, but very weak, unobtrusive aroma. The number of petals in one flower reaches 40.

The plant forms a powerful shrub about 100 cm high with branched shoots, on the lower part of which there are a small number of thorns. In width, the culture grows with an average of 0.6 meters. Rose leaves have a dense texture and a bright green hue with a glossy surface. Buds form one at the end of each shoot. The variety is distinguished by abundant two-time flowering per season. The first time flowers appear on it in early or mid-summer, the second time - in August or with the arrival of autumn.

Important features of Luxor are: high resistance of leaves and buds to rain, as well as most diseases; good winter hardiness. The plant is intended for cutting. Rose flowers can stand in a vase for a long time (up to 2.5 weeks) without losing their natural decorative effect.

Growing and care conditions

To place the flower, choose a lighted area, slightly shaded in the middle of a summer day. So you will save your beauty from sunburn, which can negatively affect the attractive appearance of the culture. At the same time, keeping the rose bush in the shade causes the color of the petals to fade. It is important that Luxor is protected from drafts.

Soils for roses are suitable for fertile, breathable, with a reaction of the environment in the range of 5.6-7.3 pH. It is necessary to plant a plant of this variety at a depth of 0.5 meters, not less, in a soil consisting of 2 parts of leafy soil, the same amount of river sand, 3 parts of manure and 1 part of peat. Fine gravel is placed at the bottom of the planting pit as drainage.

Luxor needs regular watering done weekly. In addition, weeding and feeding should not be neglected. Complex mineral fertilizer is applied to the soil under the flower during the spring and in the month of July, once every two weeks. In the spring, shoots are trimmed before the buds begin to awaken. For the winter, despite the sufficient resistance of the variety to cold weather, it is recommended to cover the plant. Just cover the bush with peat to a height of 20 cm.

Use cases

Luxor is included in bouquets intended for a birthday gift, for an anniversary or wedding celebration. Such a spectacular, bright composition will tell you better than any words what you feel for your loved one. In the garden, this rose should be planted in the foreground in order to provide your flower garden with many admiring glances from friends, neighbors and guests. The variety favorably emphasizes the beauty of group garden compositions and flower beds. But the impression of a luxurious flower planted alone will not worsen at all. One way or another, Luxor has every chance of becoming a gem in your garden's floral collection!
