Rose Boeing

White hybrid tea roses are considered real classics and never go out of floristic and garden fashion. In the group of cut varieties, plants with an impeccably straight leg are primarily appreciated. But the color of the rosette also plays an important role in choosing a variety for a bouquet. It's no secret that most white roses still have quite pronounced shades of pink, yellow, pistachio. There are not so many varieties that are practically flawless in their whiteness. Most rose growers consider exquisite as the standard of snow-white Avalange, in this regard, it is just as good Anastasia... But the variety that will be discussed in this article can argue with them in this nomination. Meet the exquisitely austere and elegant Boeing. It is also good because it is cultivated not only in special greenhouses and greenhouses, the plant has shown itself perfectly as a garden culture. The growers who grow it note the reliability of the culture, its excellent health and the ability to adapt to Russian winters.

History of creation

Unfortunately, it was not possible to find out the exact date of the presentation of the variety and to trace its pedigree. It is only known for certain that the elegant novelty appeared thanks to breeders from Holland who work for Terra Nigra Holding B.V., located in Kudelstart. The unusual name Boeing most likely received because of the clear and strict flower shapes and shining white color, which echo the appearance of the snow-white liner of the same name. Or maybe this is due to the interesting shape of the rosebud, which at the very beginning of the disclosure resembles an airplane turbine.

Description

The plant has good vigor. The bushes are quite tall, erect, powerful, about 80 - 120 cm high.The Boeing crown is not too sprawling, generally its width is about 70 cm, but depending on the height it can grow up to 90 cm. Fast growing shoots are straight, strong, long ... The thorns are of medium size, reddish, very rare, sometimes even absent. The foliage is good. Leaves are medium-sized and large, odd-pinnate, oval-elongated plates, with a weakly pronounced apex. The surface of the plate is weakly shiny or matte. As a rule, each shoot proudly carries only a single flower, but sometimes it can form a small inflorescence.

The bud is very graceful, classic goblet-shaped, tall and dense. The flower opens gradually. The petals are large, with broadly wavy edges, bending back, often forming sharp corners. The rosette has a classic shape for a hybrid tea type, with a high cone-shaped center. In the stage of complete dissolution, it becomes cupped. The rose is rather large, its diameter is generally 10 - 12 cm, sometimes 14 - 15 cm. But the rosettes collected in inflorescences have a smaller diameter. The flower is voluminous, densely double, consists of more than 55 petals. Boeing's colors are considered one of the finest white roses. Many people call the white color of the petals dazzling, bright and even cold. But in a complete dissolution, you can still notice subtle warm creamy shades in the middle of the outlet.

Flowering period

The elegant Boeing belongs to the re-flowering species. It forms buds throughout the season. Flowering begins in June, ends in October, with the arrival of persistent cold weather. According to the observations of rose growers, the first wave of flowering is large-flowered, in the second, especially in the heat, smaller flowers are formed, but closer to autumn, large-flowered flowers appear again and the color becomes simply dazzling. The flowers last for quite a long time, they are able to maintain decorativeness for two weeks or even longer. As rose growers noticed, a perennial is able to show abundant flowering, but to maintain a high level of bud formation, it is necessary to remove faded sockets in time and feed at a time when the process of bud formation has noticeably declined.The scent of a rose is not pronounced, but very pleasant.

Characteristics

  • A healthy Boeing seedling, planted in spring, is able to delight with flowering already in July;
  • originators declare good frost resistance. The plant winters well in USDA zone 6 (according to the system adopted by the US Department of Agriculture), when temperatures are kept between -20.6 ° C and -23.3 ° C. Some sources indicate that our hero can withstand frosts at -30 ° C. According to the observations of flower growers, the culture overwinters without visible damage in the fifth, fourth and even third USDA zones. True, in unfavorable conditions one cannot do without a reliable shelter, especially in snowless winters;
  • immunity is very high. Boeing has excellent resistance to major crop diseases such as black spot and powdery mildew. Even in unfavorable years, resistant plants practically do not get sick. But still there is information that initially weak seedlings are susceptible to diseases, especially black spot. Of the pests, the most often worried about the rose is the bronze, attracted by the sweetish aroma;
  • the sun of central Russia, the variety withstands well, but the petals suffer from the bright southern sun;
  • Boeing tolerates rains well. A short rainy period does not particularly affect the decorative effect of the flower, only individual rosettes can rot. But the white color is very capricious, therefore, during a period of high humidity, delicate petals become stained. That is why, if a variety is intended for cutting, it is grown exclusively in greenhouses;
  • the crop is grown as a cut crop. In a vase, a long leg and a tall snow-white bud look incredibly elegant. When cut, the rose does not lose its freshness for about two weeks.

Agrotechnics

Experienced rose growers consider spring to be the most favorable period for planting Boeing varieties. The plant will have enough time to take root and grow stronger before the upcoming winter. In order for the queen of flowers to be able to demonstrate good growth and high decorativeness, a sunny, slightly ventilated area is selected. But the species does not like drafts. Lowlands, areas with heavy clayey and excessively moisture-absorbing soils are not suitable. Watering is moderate, but sufficient to keep the soil slightly moist, but not waterlogged. Loosening the soil will help get rid of weeds and maintain air exchange in the roots. In the hot period, it is advisable to water the rose in the evening or early in the morning. Use slightly warmed water. Mulching will help keep the soil moderately moist. For the rest, agricultural technology coincides with the main stages of caring for the crop as a whole. Top dressing is carried out according to the standard scheme - nitrogen in spring, phosphorus-potassium fertilizers during the flowering period. The main pruning is done in the spring.

Boeing captivates with its large snow-white flowers and light, unobtrusive scent. This variety is in constant demand among florists who make bouquets and flower arrangements for celebrations. In the garden, Snow White can be grown in joint plantings, where it will balance the excessive brightness of certain species. In the summer heat, the relaxation corner, decorated with a snow-white variety, will give a feeling of coolness. Our hero looks good on a flowerbed, in mixborders, in the form of a large border.

It is easy to grow a Boeing, the plant is quite unpretentious, but the basic agricultural techniques should be followed rigorously. Flower growers of the Central region of Russia fell in love with this rose for its good resistance to frost and major diseases of culture.
