Tomato variety Limerens (F1)
On the test garden bed of the agricultural firm "Partner", another sensation is ripening (in the literal sense of the word), which is worthy only of laudatory epithets, among which "the most" is the best suited to characterize this variety. When creating this novelty, breeders tried to invest in it ultra-early maturity, high immunity, excellent yield and unpretentiousness. Whether they succeeded is up to the gardeners to judge, since in the fall of 2018, the seeds of this wonderful tomato go on sale. Although it should be noted right away that during the test the new variety showed excellent results. A variety of Limerens is called (by the way, this word is translated as passion, love, and sometimes obsession). Refers to hybrids, so when purchasing seeds, be sure to check for the F1 marking. The novelty has not yet been entered into the State Register, but it is assumed that it is suitable for growing in all regions of Russia, both in the open field and in closed.
Description
The plant is superdeterminate, about 40 - 45 cm high, in protected ground it can be up to 60 cm. The bush is very compact, neat, even decorative. Shoot formation is moderate. The foliage is weak, which allows the pouring fruit to absorb more sunlight. The leaves of the tomato are small (about 28 cm long, 25 cm wide), of the usual type, slightly corrugated, green. Inflorescences are mostly of a simple type, but sometimes they are semi-complex. The first fruit cluster appears above 6 - 7 leaves, the subsequent ones are formed after 1 - 2 leaves. The racemes are very attractive, elongated, each with about 6 - 8 ovaries. The stem of the Limerens is articulated.
The fruits of the variety are very beautiful, aligned, as they say - one to one, with thick walls, dense. The shape is round, the surface is smooth, the skin is thin, shiny. An unripe tomato is light green, there is no spot at the stalk. Ripe it turns into a very beautiful pink-crimson color. But the tomato is beautiful not only outside, but also inside. The pulp is pleasant pink in color, fleshy, tender, with a high content of lycopene and other nutrients, without white streaks. Taste is very good, many tasters compare this sweet, slightly sour taste with real varietal tomatoes. There are 4 - 5 seed chambers, they are not very large, full. Fruit weight is about 120 grams.
Characteristics
- The Limerens hybrid belongs to the early maturing. The originators stated that 90 - 95 days pass from the moment of emergence of full shoots to the beginning of ripening. In fact, this process takes place even earlier. On a test bed in the Moscow region, the first fruits were removed after 85 days;
- the yield for a tiny plant is simply enormous. One bush of this variety is capable of producing 3 kg of high-value fruits. From 1 square meter, the yield can be from 10 to 12 kg, but with compacted plantings, it is possible to collect 15 kg;
- immunity is excellent. The variety is resistant to tobacco mosaic virus, Alternaria, verticillosis, root rot. Early and amicable ripening of tomatoes allows you to safely avoid fusarium;
- thin, but very strong peel saves tomatoes from cracking;
- high adaptability to temperature changes. It is noted that Limerens is highly resistant to heat, which allows him to successfully tie a crop at elevated temperatures;
- there is no information about transportability and keeping quality, but judging by the consistency of the pulp and the strength of the skin, these indicators will be at their best;
- the way of use is universal.First of all, ripe tomatoes are used to prepare early vitamin salads or fresh juices. At the stage of technical ripeness, the crop of this variety can be used for pickling.
Agrotechnics
For those who are familiar with the general rules for the cultivation of low-growing tomatoes, there will be no problems. Limerens is grown in seedlings. Calculate planting dates, first of all, taking into account the climatic characteristics of the region and the method of growing the crop. The recommended planting density is 5 or even 6 plants per square meter. Despite its short stature, it is still better to tie the bush to a support so that heavy brushes do not end up on the ground. To obtain a larger yield, a plant can be formed in 3 - 4 stems. Care consists in watering and feeding on time, also do not forget about loosening and weeding.
The Limerens hybrid is a novelty that has passed the test with dignity. It has established itself as a reliable, high-yielding and disease-resistant variety. Of course, the main assessment will be given by tomato growers, who probably already consider this crop as one of the main novelties of the next season. In the meantime, of the minuses of this tomato, only one can be named - the inability to independently collect seed material.
