Tomato variety Lyubasha (F1)
Early ripe tomatoes are valued not only as a source of vitamins. In the northern regions, these varieties make it possible to harvest a fully ripe crop on a bush during a short and cold summer. In the southern regions, it is possible to grow several crops at once per season. Lyubasha belongs to such wonderful cultures. It was presented in 2016 by V.I. Blokin-Mechtalin, he is also the originator of the novelty. In 2017, the variety was entered into the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia with admission in all regions. After variety trials, it is recommended for cultivation in open ground and under film shelters in personal subsidiary plots. Despite its novelty, the variety is already enjoying well-deserved success among tomato growers. It is a hybrid, therefore it is labeled F1.
Description
Plant of determinant type, 60 - 70 cm high in open ground and about a meter in protected. Lyubasha's stem is thick, internodes are short. Moderate leafiness. Leaves are medium-sized, green, common, pinnate, medium-wrinkled. The inflorescence is of a simple type. The first fruit cluster is laid over 5-6 leaves, and then forms in almost every leaf node. 7 - 8 ovaries are formed in each brush. A feature of our hero is the ability to form 2 inflorescences in one leaf node at once, which then form 2 inflorescences with tomatoes that are absolutely normal in size and shape. The peduncle is articulated. The general impression of this bush variety is that it is a healthy, beautiful and fruitful plant.
Lyubasha's fruits are very beautiful outwardly, dense, thick-walled, smooth. The shape is rounded, sometimes slightly flattened, a slight ribbing may appear near the stalk. The skin is thin, but at the same time firm, shiny. An unripe tomato is light green, without a dark spot at the stalk. Ripe turns bright red. The pulp is very fleshy, melting consistency, tender and aromatic, juicy, but not watery. Seed nests are not small, their number is more than 4, there are not very many seeds. The taste is sweetish, the sourness is practically not felt, the taste is described as excellent. The maximum weight of the fruit in the lower hands can reach 200 grams, in the uppermost ones it is slightly less - about 120 grams. According to the State Register, the average weight of a tomato is 140 grams.
Variety characteristics
- Lyubasha is appreciated for its early ripeness. From the moment of germination to the beginning of fruiting, only 80 - 85 days pass. As the tomato growers of the Moscow region say, by the end of June it is already possible to harvest in the greenhouse;
- the yield of marketable fruits, according to the State Register, is quite high - 20 kg per 1 square meter. Firm "Partner", distributing seed, gives the following indicators: 9.0 - 11.0 kg per 1 sq. M. meters in the open field and 13.5 - 15.0 kg from 1 sq. meters under the film shelters. According to other sources, up to 4.8 kg of tomatoes are removed from one plant in the open field, up to 5.2 kg in greenhouses;
- fruit brushes ripen very amicably;
- the variety is incredibly resistant to the main fungal and viral tomato diseases. Including top rot, tobacco mosaic virus, Alternaria. Early ripening helps to avoid the most insidious disease that comes with the onset of a cold snap - phytophthora;
- of pests, slugs, the Colorado potato beetle and ticks can pose a threat to Lyubasha. To combat them at an early stage, folk remedies are successfully used, for example, a decoction of wormwood;
- the plant is very resistant to adverse weather conditions, as evidenced by the recommendation for cultivation in the open field;
- tomatoes are resistant to cracking even in high humidity in greenhouse conditions;
- thanks to the dense consistency of tomatoes, the crop is delivered to its destination intact. The keeping quality of tomatoes is high;
- the way of eating fruits is universal. The early product is an excellent source of vitamins and salad companion.Good harvests are obtained from tomatoes at the stage of technical ripeness, especially since the size of the fruits of this variety is ideal for whole-fruit canning.
Agrotechnics
It is recommended to grow Lyubasha in a seedling way. It is advisable to determine the timing of planting independently, taking into account the peculiarities of the regions, the main thing is that by the time of transplanting the seedlings should be at least 50 days old. The seeds are processed and the seedlings are grown in the usual way. In the phase of 2 true leaves, the seedlings dive and harden before planting. The recommended planting density is 5 pieces per 1 square meter, in open ground you can plant up to 6 pieces on the same area. Despite its low height, the bush must be tied to a support in order to support the stem at the time of heavy harvest load. Caring for a tomato is simple, but there are some nuances. In the greenhouse, it is imperative to maintain normal soil and air humidity; for this, periodic ventilation is used. The culture loves watering. Moisture should be abundant so that the soil gets wet at least to the depth of the shovel's bayonet, but not frequent, so as not to cause waterlogging. Top dressing is also necessary, but overfeeding can cause abundant growth of greenery to the detriment of the harvest. Experienced vegetable growers, before planting, fertilize the land in which Lyubasha is to grow. Usually, the fertilizers applied are enough for the entire growing season, because the crop returns quickly.
Our hero also has one more secret. It can be successfully grown on balconies and loggias of conventional panel houses. True, unlike balcony varieties, you will have to choose a more capacious container for it, since the root system of this tomato is more powerful. But care is no different from growing the so-called indoor tomatoes.
The Lyubasha hybrid has perfectly proven itself as a reliable and productive crop, growing equally well in an open garden bed, under film shelters, in a greenhouse and even on a balcony. Unpretentiousness and small growth significantly reduce the time spent by the gardener during the growing period. The versatility of crop use will appeal to any housewife. No shortcomings in the hybrid have been identified, so tomato growers are happy to include the variety in the list of their favorite varieties. The only drawback is the impossibility of self-collecting seed material, since a tomato hybrid in the second generation is not able to show the declared characteristics.
