Tomato variety Molodezhny

Small and smart - this is how you can briefly describe the new Molodezhny variety. It has already been appreciated by many Ukrainian gardeners and included in the list of permanently planted crops. The tomato is not included in the State Register of Breeding Achievements of Russia, there is little information about it. But according to the available reviews - the variety is very promising. The plant bears fruit well in the open field. Seed material is produced in Moldova, it can also be purchased from collectors. The novelty is not a hybrid.

Description

The plant is determinate, small, 50 - 60 cm high. Strong bush, with moderate shoots and medium foliage. The leaves are small, of the usual type, slightly wrinkled, green. Inflorescences are usually simple, sometimes intermediate. In each fruit cluster, a large number of ovaries is formed - from 5 to 10. Almost all of them ripen. The peduncle is articulated.

Tomatoes are small, weighing 100 - 150 grams (in other sources 90 - 110 grams), quite dense to the touch, smooth. The shape of the tomatoes is round-oval. The skin is not thick, firm, glossy. Unripe tomatoes are light green, without a dark spot at the stalk. Ripe ones become deep red. The pulp is juicy and fleshy, there are few seeds. In terms of taste, our hero is one of the leaders among the early varieties. The taste is rich, with a predominance of sweetness.

Characteristics

  • In terms of ripening, Molodezhny belongs to the early maturing. Some even call him super early, and put him on a par with the famous Lyana;
  • the harvest ripens together. The fruiting period is from June to August;
  • the variety is declared as super-yielding, however, without specifying specific numbers. But the gardeners who cultivate it describe good productivity, up to 5.0 kg of tomatoes can be removed from one plant. True, if we compare with Lyana, our hero is slightly inferior to her in this indicator;
  • there is a high plasticity of the variety, its ability to set fruits even with temperature changes;
  • the culture is resistant to major diseases. Due to early maturity, it manages to give the crop before the appearance of phytophthora;
  • transportability at a fairly high level. Small, dense fruits perfectly tolerate the road, do not lose their attractiveness;
  • there is no information about the longevity;
  • the way of use is universal. The strong skin withstands heat treatment, so the crop is suitable for whole-fruit canning. It is also used for processing into tomato products. But, as vegetable growers note, thanks to their excellent taste, early tomatoes are primarily consumed in their natural form, replenishing the vitamin reserve.

Agrotechnics

It is more expedient to grow youth in seedlings. The term for sowing seeds is mid-February - early March. It should be borne in mind that in the open ground, our hero grows only in warm regions. In cool regions, it is better to plant it under film shelters. The bushes do not have to be tied up, but during the fruiting period, dry grass or hay should be placed under the brushes so that the tomatoes do not get dirty. The rest of the agricultural technology is common.

The variety is valued for its early maturity, reliability, productivity and excellent taste. There is a homogeneity of tomatoes, their good presentation, which is very much appreciated by small farmers who grow vegetables for sale. Unpretentiousness and resistance to late blight make the cultivation of this tomato easily accessible even for a novice gardener. Seed material can always be collected by yourself.

Youth tomato - one might say reliable, very amicably and abundantly yields its harvest. If other varieties are not ugly, then this one is always plentiful in fruit, but it tastes at the very last place of all that had to be planted. Like grass. Perhaps on a different soil it would have been tasty, but I will not plant any more.
