Tomato variety Tiwai 12 (F1)

Another interesting variety from the Dutch company Rijk Zwaan, or Rijk Zwaan, is called Tiwai 12. It is interesting because it can be grown not only on soils, but also on substrates. The variety is suitable for growing in foil and glazed greenhouses, it is used in winter-spring and summer-autumn turns. The tomato was entered into the State Register in 2015 with admission in all regions, and is recommended for cultivation in film greenhouses of personal subsidiary farms. It is a hybrid, therefore it is always labeled F1.

Description

The plant belongs to indeterminate, tall, shows sufficient generativity. Retains good growth vigor even under heavy workload. Bushes with weak shoots, moderately leafy, open type. Leaves are medium in size, light green, ordinary, slightly corrugated. The internodes are shortened. The stem is strong. The inflorescences are of a simple type, short. Fruit clusters are beautiful, strong, each has 4 - 6 tomatoes of the same size. The peduncle is articulated.

Fruits are round or slightly flat-round, slightly ribbed, rather soft in consistency. The skin is glossy, not thick, but firm. An unripe tomato is light green, without a spot at the stalk, when ripe becomes deep pink. The pulp of the variety is pink, evenly colored, without a light center, very fleshy, juicy, sugary at the break. The number of seed nests is 4 - 6, they are small, there are few seeds. The taste is excellent. In terms of size, tomatoes are more likely to be medium-fruit, weighing 150 - 180 grams, which is confirmed by the State Register. With high agricultural technology, the fruits can gain weight up to 250 - 340 grams.

Characteristics

• The Tiwai 12 hybrid belongs to the early maturing, although 110 - 115 days pass from the moment of full sprouting to the beginning of ripening. If you count from the planting of seedlings, harvesting can begin at 60 - 65 days;

• ripening takes place amicably, the entire brush ripens almost simultaneously, which is very appreciated in industrial cultivation;
• according to the State Register, the marketable yield was 11.8 kg per 1 square meter;
• the originators note the high immunity of the culture. The variety has a high resistance to tomato mosaic virus, cladosporiosis, fusarium wilt, fusarium rot, verticillium wilt and stemfiliosis. Medium resistance to yellow leaf curl virus and nematode;
• tomatoes are resistant to cracking;
• transportability and keeping quality at an average level, it should be borne in mind that the pulp is still soft;
• way of consumption - salad.

Agrotechnics

It is recommended to grow the variety in seedlings. Seedlings are grown with and without a pick. The age at which the seedlings can be transplanted into the ground is 50 - 55 days. Transplanting to the greenhouse is carried out in April. Outdoors - in the second half of May, when the soil at a depth of 10 cm warms up to 10 ° C - 15 ° C. When grown in extended circulation, the culture is grafted onto the Emperador. In this case, the bushes have great strength, the fruits are larger and show better quality in summer and autumn. The plant must be tied up. To maintain productivity, tomatoes are watered and fed in a timely manner.

The Tiwai 12 hybrid is a new variety, but very promising. It is valued for the evenness of fruits in the brush, stable yield, high resistance to major diseases of the crop. He conquered vegetable growers and the taste, which, despite the early maturity of the variety, is called outstanding by many. The only negative is that you have to constantly buy seeds.
