Carrot variety Dordogne (F1)
Dordogne is a medium-ripening carrot from the Dutch seed breeding company Syngenta seeds. After 60 - 70 days from the emergence of mass shoots, harvesting is carried out on a bunch; technical ripeness occurs in 105 - 115 days. In 2007, the variety was included in the State Register of the Russian Federation for the North-West region. The Dordogne produces good yields when grown in heavy soils and in poor weather conditions.
The leaf rosette is upright, semi-spreading. Leaves are finely dissected, dark green, medium and long in size. The plant is resistant to shooting.
Root crops are smooth, cylindrical, blunt-pointed, orange, short and medium-sized (diameter 4 - 6 cm, length 15 - 30 cm, weight 80 - 130 grams). Belong to the Nantes variety. The pulp is sweet, juicy. The core is large, weakly expressed, orange. The top is resistant to greening. Marketable yield is 348 - 527 kg / ha, which is at the level of standard varieties Canada and Riga rz. The maximum yield is 596 c / ha (Kaliningrad region). The output of marketable products is 80 - 95%.
The roots of this carrot contain: dry matter - 12.0%, carotene - 12.1 mg / 100 g of raw matter, the amount of sugars - 7.1%.
The variety is recommended for fresh consumption and winter storage. Designed for mechanized harvesting and the sale of beam products.
Advantages of Dordogne carrots: excellent taste, stable yields, long shelf life (up to 10 months).
It gives a very high yield on good soil. Carrots are even, do not branch, sometimes there are one or two curves from the garden. But the most important reason why I plant it is that it keeps well in winter. In bulk, in wooden boxes, in the basement, I leave my carrot almost until summer. It cracks if it's a rainy summer.
