Cucumber variety Barvina (F1)
Barvina is a hybrid of an early maturing cucumber. Bred in 2008 in the Dutch agricultural company Nunhems (Nunhems B.V.). In 2011 it was added to the state register of plants in Russia for three regions - Central, North Caucasian and Nizhnevolzhsky. Designed for growing in open and protected ground in the first turn.
Parthenocarpic variety (does not require insect pollination), suitable for commercial cultivation.
Plants are medium-sized, slightly branched, indeterminate (the growth of the central stem is not limited by the flower race), form exclusively female flowers. Up to 2 ovaries are located in one leaf sinus. Leaves are green, medium in size. Recommended stocking density - 2 - 3 plants / square meter.
Cucumbers are uniform, elongated-cylindrical, with medium-sized tubercles. The skin is dark green with short whitish stripes. The mass of the greenery is 70 - 90 grams, the length is 8 - 11 cm. The pubescence is of medium density. White thorns. The pulp is firm. The yield of marketable fruits is 275 - 602 c / ha, which is 32 - 63 c / ha higher than the results of the standards Crane and Finger. The yield for the first decade of fruiting is 107 - 375 c / ha, while the standards have only 88 - 187 c / ha.
A variety of salad type. However, even when preserved, the fruits do not lose their elasticity and crunch like fresh.
This hybrid is resistant to powdery mildew, olive spot, cucumber mosaic virus, peronosporosis and cucumber vascular yellowing virus. Fruiting throughout the summer.
