Cucumber variety Chinese farm (F1)
Chinese farmer's - a hybrid of a cucumber of medium ripening, obtained by specialists of the Sedek breeding and seed company (Domodedovo). Suitable for growing both in the open field and in protected (foil and glazed greenhouses).
The variety is bee-pollinated, which must be taken into account when planting it in a greenhouse. The period from the emergence of seedlings to the collection of the first fruits is 48 - 54 days.
The plants are vigorous and vigorous; side shoots are short. The leaves are dark green, medium in size. It is recommended to place plantings on nets or trellises so that the fruits do not bend or curl. Form the plant into one stem.
Cucumbers are cylindrical in shape, with large tubercles, smooth at the base, with a neck of medium length, sweetish in taste, aromatic and crunchy. Fruit length - 30 - 45 cm, weight - 200 - 300 grams. The skin is soft, shiny, dark green in color, with very short white stripes at the top. Pubescence is frequent, white in color. Thorns are prickly. The pulp is juicy, dense, without voids and without bitterness. The seeds are small.
This hybrid is a salad type. Sometimes one cucumber is enough to make a salad for the whole family. Also, the fruits can be used for canning for the winter, if you cut them into slices.
The variety is resistant to fusarium wilt and powdery mildew. Has increased shade tolerance, and also resistant to heat and other adverse weather conditions.
Advantages of Chinese farm cucumber: consistently high yield, marketability, transportability, unpretentiousness, high taste properties of fruits.
I always dreamed of growing such a cucumber so that one could eat up, because I really love them fresh. And so I bought the seeds of the Chinese farmer. I must say right away that his taste is remarkably sweet, bitter fruits have never come across. And the flesh is very crispy, plump, firm even his flesh. From the pros - it grows in length, not in width. But it is better to shoot young fruits nevertheless, because the skin grows old and becomes thick, and the taste is lost, as it ages, it becomes grassy, you no longer have a crunch with such pleasure. Of the minuses of the variety, I note that even with a garter, a lot of fruits are bent with hooks. I have not dared to roll up the Chinese farmer's yet, but I make quick salted cucumbers, cut into pieces 5 - 7 cm long. It turns out very tasty and crispy!
I have been growing them for more than a year, both in a greenhouse and in the open field, and the harvest is always at a height. You will pick it up, put it on your hand like firewood ... and tasty and a lot and unpretentious !!!
This cucumber came to me by accident - I bought some seeds, and between them there were several grains of some other kind. As a result, this accident helped me to make a sufficient number of preparations for the winter, because due to the rainy summer, most of the plants of a different variety simply died from diseases, and did not give the expected harvest. Of course, it was unusual for me to roll chopped vegetables into jars, but that was the only way out.
The next year, having found out through the Internet what is the name of the variety that grew by accident, I purposefully ordered a Chinese farmer. By the way, my family really liked its taste, and also the fact that one fruit is quite enough for a fresh salad for the whole family. Now I have much less soot of cucumbers, and I do not lose the harvest. After all, the long fruits of the Chinese compensate for the number of cucumbers from the bushes of ordinary varieties.
