Cucumber variety Miranda (F1)
Miranda is a hybrid of an early ripening cucumber, bred by V.A. Erdyakova, N.K. Biryukova and V.M. Motov. It is intended for cultivation in greenhouses in garden plots, in private and small farms. Originators: Semenovod-M (Mytishchi) and Agrosemtoms (Kirov). In 2003, the variety was included in the state register of the Russian Federation in seven regions (North, Volgo-Vyatka, Central, Middle Volga, North-West, North Caucasian and Central Chernozem).
The variety is parthenocarpic (pollination is not required), mainly of the female flowering type The period from full germination to fruiting is 40 - 45 days.
The plants are vigorous, strongly branched, well leafy, indeterminate (the growth of the central whip is not limited). Leaves are smooth, medium-sized, green in color; the edge of the sheet is even. In one leaf sinus, from 1 to 3 ovaries are formed. The recommended planting density is 1.8 plants / square meter.
Cucumbers are cylindrical, slightly ribbed, with a short neck and medium-sized tubercles. The mass of greenery is 100 - 110 grams, length - 11 - 12 cm, diameter - 4 cm. The skin is thick, green, with well-defined white stripes reaching the middle of the fruit. Pubescence is of medium density. The thorns are white. The pulp is crispy, aromatic, without bitterness. Marketable yield - 6 - 7 kg / square meter.
The Miranda variety is suitable for both fresh consumption and canning.
This hybrid has a complex resistance to diseases of the cucumber (olive spot, fusarium, powdery mildew and downy mildew). Does not lose its presentation within 5 - 6 days after collection. Resistant to temperature extremes and adverse weather conditions. Adapted for growing in northern regions.
