Cucumber variety Buyan (F1)

Buyan is a hybrid of an early ripening cucumber, bred by employees of the selection and seed-growing company Manul (Mytishchi) in 1997. Designed for growing in open and protected ground (film and glazed greenhouses). In 2000, the variety was included in the state register of breeding achievements of the Russian Federation in three regions - Volgo-Vyatka, Central and North-West. The authorship belongs to O.N. Krylov and A.V. Borisov.

Variety Buyan is parthenocarpic (does not require pollination), prone to bundle formation of ovaries. Suitable for spring-summer and summer-autumn turnover. It takes 44 to 48 days from germination to harvesting the first fruits.

Plants are light-loving, medium-sized, medium-growing, medium-branched, female flowering, indeterminate (the growth of the central stem is not limited by the flower race). In one node, from 2 to 7 ovaries are formed. Leaves are green, medium-sized, smooth or slightly wrinkled; the edge of the leaf is slightly wavy. Plants are characterized by the second type of self-regulation of branching, in which the abundance of poured fruits on the central stem inhibits the growth of lateral shoots. The recommended planting density in greenhouses is 2.5 plants / sq.m, in open ground - 3 - 4 plants / sq.m.

Cucumbers are cylindrical, with large tubercles and a short neck, 8 - 11 cm long, weighing 90 - 110 grams. The skin is thin, green. Pubescence is of medium density. Spikes are white. The pulp is juicy and tasty. The seeds are small; when the fruits overgrow, they become larger. The yield of marketable fruits in the spring-summer turnover is 12.3 - 14.9 kg / m2 (which is 1.8 - 2 kg / m2 more than the standard Marinda), in summer-autumn - 7.4 - 8.2 (at Marinda - 6.7 - 8.7 kg / m2). Early yield in the spring-summer turnover is 3.1 - 6.7 kg / m2, in the summer-autumn - 4 - 4.2 kg / m2. The output of marketable products is 99%.

A variety for universal use. Taste and salting qualities are high.

This hybrid is characterized by high resistance to brown spot, powdery mildew, cucumber mosaic virus and medium - to peronosporosis. As well as abundant and long-term fruiting in a wide temperature range.

Advantages of Buyan cucumber: early maturity, marketability of zelents, complex resistance to diseases, high taste and yield.
