Cucumber variety Rodnichok (F1)
Spring is a time-tested bee-pollinated hybrid of medium ripening cucumber. Bred at the Transnistrian Research Institute of Agriculture (Bendery). Suitable for growing both in the greenhouse and in the open field. Originators - A.A. Mashtakov and Agrofirm Search. In 1979, the variety was included in the state register of the Russian Federation for the Northern, Northwestern, Volgo-Vyatka, North Caucasian, Middle Volga and Ural regions.
The main lash is long, growing up to 2.8 - 3 meters, while forming 4 - 5 lateral shoots. The plant is predominantly female flowering type. 2 - 3 ovaries are formed in the node. When grown in a greenhouse, the main lash should be pinned when it reaches the trellis, and the side shoots should be above 2 - 3 knots.
From germination to fruiting, 50 - 55 days pass. Zelentsy are cylindrical, medium tuberous, leveled, 9 - 12 cm long, 3.5 - 4 cm in diameter, weighing 90 - 100 g. The skin is smooth, with white stripes up to the middle of the fruit. The pubescence is sparse, the spines are black. The pulp is crispy, without bitterness. Tasting assessment of fresh cucumbers - 4.6 - 5 points. In film greenhouses, the yield is 17 - 23 kg / m2, in the open field - 5 - 7 kg / m2.
Spring hybrid universal: suitable for fresh consumption and canning. The taste in marinades and pickles remains at a high level.
The variety is resistant to anthracnose and powdery mildew, tolerant to bacteriosis, cladosporiosis (olive spot) and downy mildew. Heat resistance is also noted. Fruits not harvested in time do not outgrow.
Advantages of spring cucumber: high taste, disease resistance, long-term fruiting, high yield of marketable products.
The disadvantages include the rapid wilting of the fruit after harvest (after 2 - 3 days).
In my opinion - the best variety for beginner gardeners. If you follow all the rules, then even a “loser” will be able to grow a good harvest. With proper soil and seed preparation, it is suitable for sowing in open ground, the germination rate is high. With regular loosening of the soil after watering, it tolerates heat well. And, of course, a great salad! With dill, parsley and green onion from neighboring beds.
