Satina is an early ripening cucumber hybrid bred in 2007. It is supplied to the Russian market by the seed breeding company Nunhems (Nunhems B.V., the Netherlands). Designed for open field cultivation. In 2009, the variety was entered into the state register of the Russian Federation. Approved for use in two regions - Nizhnevolzhsky (Astrakhan, Volgograd, Saratov region, Republic of Kalmykia) and North Caucasian (Republic of Adygea, Dagestan, Chechen, Ingushetia, North Ossetia-Alania, Kabardino-Balkaria, Stavropol and Krasnodar Territories, Rostov Region) ... Great for industrial cultivation.
Satina is a parthenocarpic variety (pollination is not required), generative type of development. Fruiting begins 35 - 45 days after germination.
Plants of medium vigor, medium-growing, female flowering type, indeterminate (the growth of the main stem is not interrupted by the flower ovary). Leaves are green, medium and above medium in size.
Cucumbers are one-dimensional, cylindrical, large-lumpy, short, weighing 85 - 110 grams; fruit length to diameter ratio - 3.1: 1. The skin is thin, dark green, with mild spotting, decorated with short (1 - 2 cm) stripes of white. Pubescence is of medium density. White thorns. The pulp is crispy, tasty, without voids and without bitterness. The yield of marketable fruits is 394 - 444 c / ha (which is at the level of standard varieties Rezastr and Solnechny). Productivity in the first decade of fruiting is up to 115 kg / ha. The output of marketable products is 96 - 98%.
The variety is universal - it can be consumed fresh, but it is especially good for pickling and pickling, which is confirmed by numerous positive reviews from gardeners. Suitable for picking pickles (3 - 5 cm) and gherkins (5 - 8 cm).
The hybrid is resistant to cucumber mosaic virus and olive spot virus.
