Pear variety Yakovlevskaya
Yakovlevskaya - pear selection of the State Scientific Institution of the All-Russian Research Institute of Genetics and Breeding of Fruit Plants named after V.I. I.V. Michurin with fruits of early winter ripening period. Obtained through crossing the varieties Daughter of the Dawn and Talgar beauty... The authorship belongs to a group of breeders: S.P. Yakovlev, A.P. Gribanovsky, N.I. Savelyev and V.V. Chivilev.
In 2002, the variety was included in the State Register for the Central Black Earth Region.

Trees are medium-sized, the crown has an average density and a regular wide-pyramidal (rarely conical) shape. The height of mature trees can reach 10 m. The average annual growth is 25 cm in height and 15 cm in width. Fruiting is concentrated on all types of fruit formations (mixed).
Shoots without pubescence, straight, medium thickness, dark red color. Lentils are numerous. The kidneys are of medium size, smooth, bent, conical in shape. The leaves are medium in size, ovoid, green in color, the tips of the leaves are long-pointed, the edges are finely serrated. The leaf blade is curved upward and blunt at the base, the surface of the leaf is smooth, with a glossy sheen. Petioles are of medium length and thickness. Stipules subulate.
Yakovlevskaya fruits grow to medium and above average size (pear weight ranges from 120 - 130 to 180 - 210 grams), smooth, regular elongated pear-shaped or narrow-rhombic shape. The skin is of medium thickness, even, smooth, slightly oily, with a thin layer of waxy coating. At the moment of removable maturity, the main color of the fruit is greenish, at consumer maturity it is greenish-yellow. The cover color is expressed on a smaller part of the fruit through a reddish blush. Peduncles are of medium length and thickness, curved in shape. Funnel of shallow depth, narrow shape. The cup is non-falling, half-open type. The saucer is of medium depth, wide. The heart is medium-sized, bulbous. Seed chambers are medium in size, closed. Seeds of medium size, conical shape, brown color.
The pulp is creamy, medium density, delicate semi-oily consistency, slightly granular, juicy, tender, with a pleasant aroma and a good sour-sweet taste. Evaluation of the taste of the variety on a 5-point tasting scale - 4.5 points. By chemical composition, the fruits contain: dry soluble substances (12.8%), the amount of sugars (11.6%), titratable acids (0.4%), ascorbic acid (10.1 mg / 100 g), P-active substances (148.0 mg / 100 g).
Removable ripeness of fruits begins towards the end of the second decade of September. In a refrigerated fruit storage (or at 0 ° C), pears are stored for a very long time, up to 120 - 180 days.
The early fruiting rate of the Yakovlevskaya pear is low: the trees enter the fruiting season no earlier than 5-6 years. High-yielding variety. The index of winter hardiness is quite high (above the average level of varieties grown in the Central region of Russia). As a result of artificial freezing in the middle of winter at an air temperature of minus 38 ° C, the tissues of the bark, cambium and xylem were damaged by no more than 1.1 points. The tree is resistant to fungal diseases (scab) and entomosporia.
The obvious advantages of this pear are: attractive fruits with good taste, high storage capacity and productivity, complex resistance to diseases and pests.
Among the shortcomings, there is a low level of early maturity, as well as the tendency of fruits to become smaller when the crown thickens.
The pear is tasty and good in maturation, it lasts until the end of January. Scab is affected only in rainy summers. For prophylaxis, I spray the tree with 3% Bordeaux liquid. I do this before budding. This treatment protects the tree for two seasons. The variety loves water. If you water the tree before budding and after flowering, five buckets every other day, in the grooves along the near-stem circle, the yield will rise by 30%. The only minus of the variety is late fruiting. For me, Yakovlevskaya blossomed in several clusters only in the fifth year, and already in the sixth - it was strewn with fruits.
