Cucumber variety Amur (F1)

Cupid is a hybrid of an ultra-early ripening cucumber. Was bred in the breeding and seed company "Manul". From the emergence of full shoots to fruiting, 37 - 40 days pass. In 2000, the variety was included in the state register for all regions of the Russian Federation. Recommended for growing in private gardens and small farms. Suitable for cultivation in greenhouses and open field.

The plant is parthenocarpic (female flowering type), vigorous, indeterminate, characterized by the simultaneous filling of several fruits. The starting parthenocarp is high. Branching is very weak, so that the bush can be grown with little or no formation. One or two ovaries are formed in the knot. Leaves are green, medium in size, waviness of the edge is absent or very weak. In greenhouses, 3 bushes are planted per 1 sq. meter, in the open field - 4 - 5 bushes. Cupid gives the main harvest in the first month of fruiting.

Zelentsy are oval-fusiform, slightly wrinkled, small tuberous, with a short neck, 12-15 cm long, weighing 90-110 grams. The skin is dark green with faint light stripes reaching up to a third of the fruit. Pubescence is frequent, spines are white. Marketable yield is 12 - 14 kg / sq. Meter. Harvesting is carried out 2 - 3 times a week.

In 2014, cucumber seeds Amur (Bejo Zaden) were advised by a shop assistant. The package contains 10 treated seeds. I planted them separately on May 6. We all went up at the same time and very quickly. When there were only 4 true leaves on the seedlings, there were already buds in the axils of the first leaves. Grown on a cucumber net. Up to 8 fruits were set in the axils of each pair of leaves. A worthy harvest was reaped from ten seeds.

The 2015 season turned out to be unsuccessful for cucumbers - many varieties were sown several times, but the desired result was never achieved. The only variety that did not disappoint is Amur. It has already sown in several stages - in May, June and at the end of July. Harvested until October! If it weren't for the cupids, we won't see canned cucumbers.

Fruits are smooth, dark green, with a thin skin, good for pickling. I have already purchased seeds for the next season. The only drawback that I noted is that they outgrow, so you need not to yawn and harvest on time.

A very successful hybrid in the line of the Bejo company (I did not grow cucumbers from the Manul company). In salting, it is simply beautiful and never tastes fresh when fresh. Its advantage is that it is capable of self-pollination, so that in any weather and with minimal care you will have a harvest of delicious cucumbers. I mostly pick pickles or gherkins from it, as it knits a lot of cucumbers in a knot, and by picking it off, we give the other fruits the opportunity to develop normally. For the same reason, he should be given a little more nutrition than ordinary hybrids, so that the fruits do not dry out. But do not forget about watering.I prefer to grow it on a trellis, so it is more convenient to pick the fruits and it is much less sick.

This season I tried cucumbers for the first time this season, and I will definitely do it again! I landed only two packs of 10 each. The seeds have sprouted about 80%. At first they grew under my cover, then they removed the fabric. Provided with drip irrigation. The sprouts were strong and developed rapidly. Fruiting very actively, and from one branch it was possible to collect several fruits at the same time, and this is very convenient when salting. Harvested every 2 - 3 days, otherwise they greatly outgrew. The bushes bore fruit very quickly, after which they immediately dried up.
