Crispin cucumber variety (F1)

Crispina is a medium-ripening cucumber hybrid from the Dutch seed breeding company Nunhems B.V.. In 2000, the variety was included in the State Register of the Russian Federation for garden plots, home gardens and small farms. Approved for use throughout Russia. Designed for cultivation in open and protected ground.

Crispin's cucumber variety

Parthenocarpic variety (does not require pollination). Resistant to adverse weather conditions, so it is well suited for beginners. It is preferable to define it on a net or trellis, but it is also suitable for growing in spread. Compared to other similar hybrids, this one is less demanding on heat at the beginning of fruiting, and also shows resistance to high temperatures throughout the growing season.

Plants are medium-sized, medium-branched, indeterminate, with exclusively female flowers and a well-developed root system. The leaves are medium in size, with a medium wrinkled surface, ranging in color from green to dark green. In one leaf sinus, from 1 to 3 fruits are tied.

In the greenhouse, Crispina bushes form into one stem with side stepchildren. Blinding is carried out in the first 4 - 5 leaf axils of the main stem (all ovaries and stepsons are removed). In the next 3 - 4 knots, all stepchildren are removed, leaving one ovary at a time. Thanks to this technique, the plant will gain strength and form a bountiful early harvest. In the next 4 - 5 knots, leave all the ovaries and pinch the stepsons after the first sheet. Further, up the stem, the stepsons pinch after 2 - 3 leaves (depending on the thickening of the plantings). After the central stem reaches the horizontal trellis, it is carefully wrapped around it a couple of times and lowered down, pinching it 1 - 1.5 meters from the ground. With aging, the lower leaves that have turned yellow or thickening the planting are removed - thanks to this, air exchange in the greenhouse improves, which helps to avoid further plant diseases due to air stagnation.

Cucumbers are one-dimensional, cylindrical with a slight inflow to the top, large-lumpy, 10 - 12 cm long, 4 cm in diameter, weighing 100 - 120 grams. The skin is green to dark green in color, with small rounded spots and light stripes up to 2/3 of the fruit. Frequent pubescence. The thorns are white. The pulp is of good taste, firm, very crispy, without bitterness. The yield of marketable fruits is 6.3 kg / sq.m

A variety of universal type - used fresh and for winter harvesting. These pickled cucumbers are especially good. Taste qualities of fresh and canned products are excellent.

The hybrid is characterized by complex disease resistance - brown spot (cladosporium), common cucumber mosaic and powdery mildew. Has a long fruiting period. The collected fruits do not lose their properties for a long time during storage.

Advantages of Crispin's cucumber: early ripeness, evenness of fruits, resistance to diseases, transportability, high yield.
