Cucumber variety Magdalena (F1)
Magdalena is an early maturing cucumber hybrid from the Dutch seed producer Monsanto Holland B.V.. Suitable for cultivation in open ground and under film shelters in garden and summer cottages. In 2009, the variety was included in the register of breeding achievements of the Russian Federation. Approved for use in all regions.
The Magdalena variety is parthenocarpic (does not require bee pollination). Designed for growing on pickles (3 - 5 cm) and gherkins (5 - 8 cm). On pickles, harvesting of fruits can be carried out already after 34 - 36 days from the appearance of mass shoots.
Plants are open, medium and vigorous, indeterminate (stem growth is not limited), with a moderate number of lateral shoots. One node forms from 1 to 3 cucumbers.
Zelentsy are cylindrical in shape, with medium-sized tubercles, short. The skin is dark green (lighter closer to the apex), with light short stripes and slightly or moderately pronounced spotting. Pubescence is of medium to high density. Spikes are white. The pulp is firm, without bitterness.
The pickles are cylindrical, lumpy, even in shape and size, with a green skin, weighing 10 grams, 3 cm long, 1 - 1.2 cm in diameter.When grown on pickles (in the conditions of spring film greenhouses), the marketable yield is 7 - 8 kg / sq. meter.
A variety of universal use. Great for pickling and pickling pickles and gherkins. Taste properties of fresh and canned products are high.
The Magdalena hybrid is resistant to brown spot, cucumber mosaic and powdery mildew.
