Cucumber variety Prestige (F1)
Prestige is a mid-early parthenocarpic cucumber hybrid bred by breeders of the Sedek agricultural firm. Designed for growing in open ground, but gives a good harvest in greenhouses, film shelters. Due to the compactness of the plants, it can also be used indoors - on a balcony or windowsill. Suitable for commercial production. The period from germination to the beginning of fruiting is 42 - 45 days. Authors of the variety: S.V. Dubinin, I.N. Dubinin and M.I. Kirillov.
In 2007, Prestige was included in the state register of plants of the Russian Federation. Approved for use in the Central Black Earth Region (Belgorod, Voronezh, Kursk, Lipetsk, Oryol, Tambov regions) and West Siberian (Kemerovo, Novosibirsk, Omsk, Tomsk, Tyumen regions, Altai Republic and Altai Territory) regions.
Plants are medium-sized, medium-branched, indeterminate, female flowering type. The leaves are dark green, medium in size. The ovaries are formed in bunches - up to 3 - 4 pieces per knot.
Fruits are cylindrical, with large tubercles, short - 8-10 cm long, weighing 65-90 grams. The skin is dark green in color, with a whitish top and short white stripes. Frequent pubescence. The thorns are white, prickly. The pulp is crispy, without bitterness. The yield of marketable fruits is 311 - 492 c / ha, which is 19 - 291 c / ha higher than the data of the Golubchik and Vitan hybrids. With optimal care, up to 25 kg of cucumbers can be harvested from one square meter.
The hybrid is characterized by amicable formation of an early harvest and further prolonged (until frost) abundant fruiting. Zelentsy do not outgrow even with an unstable collection. Plucked fruits retain their presentation for a long time and do not form voids when canning. Plants are stress-resistant - they are not afraid of shading and sudden changes in air temperature.
A universal variety - can be used both fresh and for canning. Small gherkins look good in blanks.
Advantages of Prestige cucumber: excellent taste, high yield of marketable products, complex disease resistance, stress resistance.
