Trees are medium-sized. At a young age, the crown has a broom-shaped shape; the bark on the branches is colored yellow, the branches themselves form an acute angle when they leave the trunk. With age, the crown becomes "weeping", taking a spreading shape; branches are thin, long, orange-yellow in color, bare; foliage is concentrated on the periphery of the crown.
Shoots are thin, straight, light, greenish-yellow in color. The leaves are elongated, slightly fleecy, light green, the edges are serrated. Stipules are large. Petioles are thin, long.
The fruits of Kitayka are of a golden early small size (weighing 20 - 40 g, average apple weight 30 g), round, whitish-amber-yellow in color, no cover color. When ripe, the fruits seem to "fill" (in the lumen you can easily see the seed nest in them). Peduncles are short in length.
The pulp is yellowish, juicy, with a good sour-sweet taste and a very pleasant aroma.
Fruits ripen early, by late July - early August. It is not worth delaying the harvest, because when the apples ripen, they begin to crumble. Fruits are practically not subject to storage: they must be eaten or processed in a maximum of 5 - 7 days, otherwise they become "cottony". You can make a very tasty jam from apples (it looks like honey), but it is not recommended to cook jam (apples boil quickly).
The early maturity of the apple tree is good: the trees bear fruit from the 3rd - 5th year, but the very first fruits can be picked already in the 2nd year. In general, the yield is low (up to 30 kg of fruits from an adult tree), but do not forget about the purpose of the variety for the northern regions and the small size of the trees.
